Haiti Relief

On 12 January, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in its wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope. In the past, when terrorists attacked the Twin Towers, when a tsunami struck Indonesia, when a hurricane destroyed New Orleans, and when wildfires ravaged Australia, Stampin’ Up! demonstrators stepped forward and showed their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. This time is no different.

From now until 28 February, 2010, you can partner with Stampin’ Up! to make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of this devastating earthquake.

Stampin’ Up! will set aside $2 from the sale of every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set and donate that money to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

This set priced at $42.95 would be a great addition to your collection and teams beautifully with the Full Heart punch and the Heart to Heart punch
If you would like to lend your support contact me at wotzup@bigpond.net.au to order this stamp set. Iwill offer free postage on this item up until the 28th February 2010

Simple scrapbook layout

Excuse the footpath backdrop!!! A very simple scrapbook layout using cardstock, a teeny bit of designer paper and some stamping. I love this fluke shot I took of Ebony at the beach...how nice of that seagull to fly by just at the right moment! I have used Boroque Motifs again..a fantastic set for doing background bits. The bird is from the Always set and the leaves are from  Embrace Life stamped in Basic Grey and coloured with my white gel pen. The circle is just paper piercing I love the subtle effect. I am afraid I don't like busy too much so my layouts are always plain looking but that's how I like them...

Some kids cards....and more

I hve been wanting to make a waterfall card for ages but never had the right stamps..My upline Angie made one using Bugs and Kisses so now I finally have this set (thanks to Stampin Start!) I was able to go ahead....love that little old ant!!
This is what it looks like when you tug on the doodad (tech term lol)
This one is a penny spinner..or in this case a five cent spinner...when you tip the card from side to side the rocket (from Pun Fun) rolls around..I will be using this as a class example  of why you should use a Stamp a ma jig..the sentiment in the word window is crooked...unless you tilt your head to one side..then it's fine!
I did this for a bit of valentine fun...pretend that is a stick of latte instead of cappacino...I was fresh out!!
Another stamp from the Pun Fun Set 115854...love that set to bits!!
Next is an origami gift box...I purchased the template online..this is it closed
The top view showing the flower I made with Petal Pizzazz 115850. I used the rock and roll method and cut between the petals...also scored the centre of the petals, then turned it over (on a mouse pad) and used the end of a biro to rub the leaves to make them kind of 3D -ish.
This is what it looks like when it is opened up..I made it to hold a bracelet my daughter is giving to her friend for her birthday...shhh!
Ans lastly my sister asked me to make her a simple baby card...th erattle from Something Sweet with a treat cup full of buttons...did a bit of hand stitching on this one...haven't done that for a while...that's all folks

Scrapbooking (finally!!)

I haven't done any scrapbooking since I joined Stampin Up! so I thought it was about time I got back into it. For this layout I used Baroque Motifs (116340) to stamp the background cardstock (both Old Olive). The flower embellishments were made with Petal Pizzazz (115850). I have used the slit punch (104388) to create the scallop border...have to say that is one handy dandy little punch and at only $11.50 it's a steal!! I wish I had known about that little sucker a loong time ago! I have also used the spiral punch (108341...another scrapbooking gem) and some On Board So Tweet chipboard...no journaling as yet, I think I will leave that up to Ebony as this is for her album...lots of fun I will definately be getting back to some serious scrapbooking!
Also had a go at making a little strawberry lip balm holder...I just fooled around until I came up with something easy to hold the balm in place....found that tying it inside the card with ribbon was the least time consuming option...The strawberry is from the Tart and Tangy set (113031)...very cute.
Next I had a little play with the cute hippo from the Pun Fun Set (115854)...the balloons are from Crazy for Cupcakes.....quite a bit of Dazzling diamonds went onto this card...the photo doesn't do it justice, it's much nicer in real life (isn't that what you are meant to say?? lol)
And last but not least I made this for a challenge on Late Night Stampers...a valentine card using masculine colours...the creepy crawlies are from the Bugs and Kisses set (115912) and the background is En Francais (112358)
Ok that's all for now I will stop my ramblings and go and play some more...so many ideas so little time...sigh!
If you would like to order any of the products I have used for these projects drop me a line at wotzup@bigpond.net.au and I will be happy to help

Love is in the air

Don't let the title fool you, I am about as romantic as a house brick...however I thought I had better do a few lovely dovey things for the ladies who come to my classes....nothing overly sickly, just a heart here and there..here are the items we made in tonights class
We made this quick and easy little box featuring the skunk from the Pun Fun set...my daughter loves this little guy and made me buy the set just for him...inside the box are some yummy chocolate hearts.
This buckle card features En Francais background stamp with the butterfly and love you from Dream Du Jour (we seem to use this set in class more than any other set, so versatile!!) The single rose is from Embrace Life, it's stamping debut, first time I have thought to use it
Next up we made a cute little notebook...I would love to say I am clever enough to create punch art like this however I am not lol...Lynn Pratt designed these cute turtles and I cased them because I thought they were so sweet
And lastly I came up with this quick little valentine treat using the heart from the Always set. Just a quicky made by stamping the heart and sticking to an icy pole stick with a mat of red to place behind the heart to hide the stick...a chocolate heart was attached to the centre with a glue dot and a little sentiment stamped on the stick with white craft ink....and the polka dot ribbon (from the summer mini catalogue)...the girls all thought it was pretty cute....

And now to my stamping girls who attend our weekly classes...it was suggested we came up with a name for ourselves...so the ball in in your court...email your suggestion to me at wotzup@bigpond.net.au ..I will select the name I think is the best and reward the winner with a little prize...and if I hate your suggestions I will come up with my own lol

This Little Piggy (and more)

I have a kids class tomorrow and my dilema was the diverse age ranges..I needed something easy enough for the little ones to do but not too lame for the big kids...I think these will be ok...first up is the tired/bored piggy with a treat cup nose full of mini musks. I started off making a mouse but thought the treat cup looked just like a pig snout so I went with that idea instead
I thought a sticky note pad would be nice and easy too and added a punch art puppy to the front...He is a creation by Angie Kennedy on SCS...I used the 1 3/4 punch for his head and body and the word window punch for his patch and ears..
Lastly a jumbo clip bookmark..the bird is all glittery which isn't showing up in the image....kids and glitter??? we will see how that goes...
I will let you know how it all went....it's just lucky I know all the kids and they are all well behaved so my sanity should remain intact!

Cherish Card

I did a card with these same water coloured flowers last week but I had so much fun water colouring the flowers I just had to make another version. The flower is from the Embrace life set and that butterfly from Dream Du Jour is back again along with the flourish from Boroque Motifs. I have added a bit of dazzling diamonds to the stamens this time and a bling buckle that I found under my desk lol...I realy have to go to bed, I have been stamping since last year and I am tired!

Easel Card

Happy New Year every one, I hope 2010 is a great year for everyone...I know I am looking forward to a fresh year after a crappy 2009!
Just thought I would share this easel card I just made and as usual it's quick and easy to make...I used elegant eggplant, always artichoke and very vanilla. The stamps are Boroque Motifs with the butterfly from Dreams Du Jour...The girls will be making this card (among other things) at tomorrow nights class
