Notably Ornate

Oh Dear! Please excuse the nasty angle!! I cased this off a tag which is in the catalogue and added it to a card front. I used used the So Swilry wheel to tart up the card a bit. The colours used are Baja Breeze, Early Expresso and Confetti Cream...super quick to make but it still looks ok, it would be a good card to make in a workshop

Fancy a Cool Drink??

I have done versions of this card before but they are so much fun it's ok to do an encore I reckon. The cup is made from vellum cardstock...love this stuff...so sturdy!. I have stamped the lemon from Tart and Tangy and cut some of them into segments...I used 2 way glue to glue just the rinds of the segments and attached them to the reverse side of the cup...it gives the appearance they are floating in the drink My class girls love making these!. and now I feel like a cool drink...laters!

A Little Treat (with Fox and Friends!)

I took advantage of one of Stampin' Ups! great specials and bought this cute little set called A Little Treat...so glad I did. I have stamped the hot air balloon basket and used the 1 3/4 circle punch to make the balloon. I then masked the basket and stamped the giraffe from Fox and  Friends and on a scrap I stamped the monkey, then cut him out and hung him from the balloon ropes. I have used Pacific Point for the card base and added some Pumpkin Pie designer paper and an Old Olive scallop border...best of all I think this could be classed as a boys card...I rarely do them  so that's a bonus!

Drinkies!

I have a dreadful habit of using my newest stamps and neglecting my older sets...So I have vowed to go to the bottom of the stacks!! This is the Cheers To You set which is a great one for watercolouring..I also added some Dazzling Diamonds for a bit of bling..I also used retro Remix wheel which I think I have used only once before...don't know why it's a great stamp!

Medallion Stamp and Dasher

This card didn't turn out exactly as planned..I was originaly going to cut a hole in the front and stamp Dasher behind the hole...after two botched attempts I gave up and stamped Dasher on a circle and stuck it in the middle of the medallion. The sentiment is from Heard From the Heart. I used Bravo Burgundy on Confetti White cardstock which looks kinda good I reckon for a quick and simple card

Because I Care

Still can't believe this is a level one hostess set...so very pretty!
For this one I stamped the image then stamped the flower head again on a scrap and coloured it using Pink Pirouette and Pear Pizazz which I adhered over the top of the original  image using dimensionals I also rolled Music Notes across the bottom and added some Pear Pizazz ribbon..this also looked nice in just plain black and white.
Humour me for my proud nanny moment..
Two of my beautiful grand daughters Ella and Emily just before we set off for the Bunnings Christmas Family Fun Night...who knew you could have so much fun at a hardware shop!!

More Petal Pizzazz

I keep coming back to these two stamp sets..Petal Pizzazz and Boroque Motifs..so very versatile.. I have layered three different flowers to form the main image and the background is stamped with the swirl from Boroque Motifs...This is a nice easy card and would be great to demo in workshops!

Aviary

This set is going to cop a thrashing, I LOVE it! I have used Concord Crush and Old Olive, the sentiment is from Well Scripted. I have to say the new designer paper pads are awesome!! I love the way they are packaged and its fantastic to have a paper to match all the cardstock..well done SU!

Nov 27, 2010

Punch Potpourri

What a pretty little set of stamps (Punch Potpourri Level 1 Hostess Set). I have used Early Expresso with Tangerine Tango Designer paper..how fantastic that there is a punch for each of these stamps...my class ladies loved making this one! The sentiment is Well Scripted..another very pretty set..I wasn't sure about these colours togther at first but it has grown on me

Adult Version of Reindeer Poop

Hi everyone, not too many sleeps til the fat guy comes!! I have so much to do before Christmas, I need a remote with a pause button! Next week I am doing a kids class and one of items we will be making is reindeer poop...kids love that kind of thing....but I have also come up with a version for my adults class
This is the outside. I used the owl punch to make a reindeer..not my idea I might add, someone very clever thought of that little gem...I wasn't wearing my glasses when I stamped the sentiment..I thought it said have a very merry christmas!. Inside there is a little plastic tube filled with chocolate coated peanuts for poop. I have written my own version for my class ladies who all have a sense of humour...if you are offended by swear words please don't scroll down

Well I thought it was funny..I will be making several of these lol!

And now humour me for a proud mum moment..My youngest daughter just had her senior formal....so next year no more kids at school..yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ebony looked like a princess...and her boyfriend Zac looked handsome too.
Congrats to Ebony and Zac on your graduation too!!!!

Just Believe Workshop Card

This is one of the cards we will be making in a free workshop this week. I have used Whisper White and Marina Mist (love that colour) . The butterflies are Beautiful Wings Embossilits with a bit of bling. You can't tell from my dodgey photo but there is dazzling Diamonds added to the flower heads....I hope the ladies like it, it's been a while since I have done a workshop

Nov 17, 2010

5th Avenue Floral

I cased this one but the watermark on the original was so tiny I couldn't read it to give credit...my apologies to the person concerned...I stamped ther flowers onto Pale Plum and Elegant Eggplant cardstock then used my Aqua Painter to give them a light wash of colour with the same coloured ink to give them a bit of depth. The sentiment is from Occassional Greetings and this particular one is my fave stamp in that set. The base of the card is Confetti Cream which I forgot I even had....too lazy to bend down and see what is at the bottom of my paper rack lol

Nov 16, 2010

Flip Flop Card

I felt like using bright colours today..Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist to be exact! I think these are called flip flop cards but I could be wrong...I used Cheep Talk which is such a cute little set.
and this is the card opened up...I didn't open it up too far or you would have seen the big ink smudge on the inside..however you CAN see the bird I didn't stamp properly lol....don't you hate it when you finish a card and then discover a blooper...never mind, I am sure the card making police won't nab me !

Nov 15, 2010

Masculine Gift Card Holder

This idea has been done to death but it's still my favourite style of gift card holder...I have made this for a bloke no no bling or flowers eeekk!! I used Contempory Christmas and After Thoughts (level one hostess set) and stuck with a simple colour scheme of Very Vanilla and Bravo Burgundy....all I have to do now is save up for the gift card!!

Nov 14, 2010

Shabby Chic Card

Hmm, these types of cards are NOT my forte however I gave it my best shot...I used En Francais for the background and the flower is made with three punched and scrunched XL Fancy Flower punch. The David Jones paper (lol) is from the Love Notes DSP and the oval thingy is from Notably Ornate..I won't give up my day job ha ha

Nov 13, 2010

Santa Card

I love this card...I have seen several versions of him in blog land so I am unsure of the original creator. I used the XL bird punch for his mo, large oval for his nose, 3/4 circle for his eyes, large oval for the holly leaves (taking bites out with the 1/2 inch circle punch)...and the rest is cut freehand. Kinda cute I think!

Nov 8, 2010

Another Boroque Card

I have certainly gotten my moneys worth out of this set! I have kept this very simple using only black and white.  Of Course I have forgotten which set that frame is from...Old age will do that to you!

Nov 7, 2010

Pear Pizazz card

I think just about everyone has done a version of this card which is in the current IB&C. I have used Pear Pizazz cardstock and Ribbon and Greehouse Gala DSP. Butterfllies are Beautiful Wings Embossilits and the flourish is from Friends 24-7

Birthday Penguin

I love how everyone has been using the owl punch to make penguins...so cute I just had to have a go... I have added balloons from the Party This way set...also using up some retired dsp

Nov 5, 2010

Tipsy Owl

I had to make a card for a male birthday ...something I am not very good at so I went with an owl who has had a few too many beers! The beer mug is from the Cheers to You  set which I have watercoloured and added some dazzling Diamonds to the froth...I think I may do a female version next, holding a martini!

Boroque Motifs Easel Card

I am so chuffed..I just won challenge 93 over at Late Night Stampers with my upsy daisy easel card from a few posts ago...made my day, I am been a SU demo for a year now but still don't feel like a REAL stamper so it's such a confindence boost. Thankyou LNS!

Today I have made a birthday card for my neice and funnily enough it's another easel card. This time I used Boroque Motifs and All a Flutter. I kept it simple using only two colours..Basic Black and Perfect Plum.

I also added a little bit of bling, some black satin ribbon and a Hodge Podge bookplate..hope she likes it!

Workshop Pens

My post isn't stamp related today, but I thought I would share this idea since it's coming up to Christmas and this would make a cute gift for someone.(.I originally got the idea from Dawn Griffiths blog) I made this watering can of pens  to use in my workshops and classes...it looks so much nicer than a boring packet of biros..To make the pens you get a bunch of artificial flowers and use the wire cutters to cut off each flower leaving about two inches of stem. Lay the stem against the top of the biro and use florists tape to wind around the stem and the pen (I got my florists tape at the junk shop but if you can't find it there you should be able to buy some from a florist)
Pop the pens into a pretty watering can or flower pot and voila!! Instant pretty! I have recently had orders for these for teachers gifts and for sign in areas of preschools..cool aren't they!
While I am here I thought I would show you a few pics of my stamping room. You know when you read peoples blogs and you see those amazing rooms that lool like something out of a Glossy magazine...well mine is not like that!! lol
My room is actually a double garage which is detached from our house...in the sixteen years we have lived here it has never had a car parked in there...Two of my girls have used it as a granny flat, it has been used as a games room and more recently as a drop zone for all sorts of junk...but when I joined Stampin' Up! I claimed it as my lady cave.
As you can see I have no fancy furniture, in fact nothing matches, but it is all very practical and cost next to nix! I got the two steel framed tables and 12 very corfortable chairs at the auction for $130...what a bargain. I can comfortably seat 10 and that's with plenty of elbow room...the shelves you can see were free and the revolving card stand was a gift from a friend who paid $11 for it at a Tender Centre.
The opposite side of my room has my older style punches hanging on tea towel rails I got at Bunnings for $2 each...more free shelves and a free desk up the back (gotta love other peoples cast offs!)

The trestle table up the back is handy at supper time when I serve my class ladies some yummy cooked snacks and egg and lettuce sandwiches (and in winter I spoil them with home made pumpkin soup and crusty bread)
Although I dream of a stamping studio like the ones in Home Beautiful the reality is it aint  ever gonna happen but I have to say I love my lady cave regardless and I can hold classes and workshops without interupting hubby while he is watching Law and Order and CSI lol.

Owl Christmas Treat

I thought this would be good for our class bonus project this week..(I don't think I will ever get sick of Mr Owl..) It is quite clear I am being ripped off when I buy smarties...I wanted to use only red and green, but lo and behold there were hardly any of those colours, so I had to settle for non Christmas colours...what is this world coming to!! I also added a mini candy cane which comes wrapped and with a hangy doodad which is rather handy..The owls hat is handcut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock though it looks black in this unfortunate night time photo...I have made so much mess in my craft room I couldn't find my white gel pen to add highlights to the eyeballs so I will add them later..

Engagement card

I had to make an engagement card but I don't have any sentiments for that occassion so I just went with a lovely dovely theme (so not me lol) I have used up some retired designer paper and punched two love birds with the XL bird punch. The sentiment is from Vintage Vogue.

Since I had a scrap of Cherry Cobbler cardstock left over I made a simple tag to tie to a candy cane. The cute koala is from the Happy Christmas Mate set..

Upsy Daisy Easel Card

Excuse the washed out photo, I forgot to get a picture today in natural light. This is just a very simple easel card using Upsy Daisy and the butterfly from Dreams du Jour. It's one of the cards we will be making in class this week...I am really struggling with ideas at the moment, my mojo up and left me..does that ever happen to you?

Happy Christmas Mate!

Since snowmen aren't likely on the Gold Coast this Christmas, I thought I should do and Aussie Christmas card. I don't own this set (Happy Christmas Mate) but a friend kindly loaned it to me so I could have a play..it's now officially on my wish list! I watercoloured the image with Soft Suede, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler and added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds to some of the pressies..I have also coloured surfing Santa but have't made a card for him as yet..stay tuned!

Oct 24, 2010

Just Believe (in pink)

I really need to get a bit more imaginative when I am thinking of titles for my posts lol

I coloured the images with Pretty in Pink and Old Olive markers. I used a sketch for this one...makes it so much easier, I don't know why I don't do that more often...ok off to the real world of washing and cleaning..sigh

Have fun with the rest of the Hop!!!

For my first two projects I purchased tutorials here.
This is a hanging treat box I have made for my grand daughters to hang on the door for Santa. I have used the Tree Trimmings stamp set and Holly Jolly designer paper. I have also included a magic key for santa as they don't have a chimney. For the key  I traced an image onto cardstock from a colouring book and cut it out and embossed it with gold embossing powder...we usually include a poem about the magic key, but as Miss Emily pointed out, we tell him that every year, he should know by now!
This is such a cute box and could be used for Easter as well. I have added window sheet to the front opening so you can see the yummy chocolates inside.
My gifts are getting smaller each year so I figure if it's packaged in a pretty bag it looks a little more special. I used Riding Hood Red cardstock with designer paper from Love Notes.. The flowers are from the Season Of Joy stamp set. A pretty satin ribbon handle finishes it off nicely.
For my kids cards I will be making these because lollies speak volumes! I used a treat cup on the front and lots of Little Leaves sizzlets to make the wreath. The greeting is from Heard From the Heart which I used to hold a candy cane ( a few glue dots help to hold the candy cane)

I am not a fan of gummy bears my self but all the kids I know love them!

My last project isa cute little gift I have made for my daughter....she loves making cocktails so when I saw these cocktail recipe cards at the reject shop for $2  I was very happy..they are the size of a deck of playing cards and each one has a christmas cocktail recipe...how cute!I took the measurements of the deck and made a slide cover with a lift up flap on the top so I could write a greeting on the inside.
The images on the cards reminded me of the Cheers to You stamp set so that is what I used to stamp on the front. I watercoloured the image and added some dazzling diamonds. The designer paper is Love notes again (love polka dots!) and I made some holly leaves with the large oval punch using the 1/2 inch punch to take "bites" out of the leaves .. the Old Olive satin ribbon finished it off.

That's all I have for you today, thanks so much for stopping by, you will now head off to see what  Jan McAnulty has in store for you

Silhouette Sentiments Waterfall Card

I love the dainty little stamps in the Silhouette Sentiments set. I have colored them with Marina mist and Old Olive markers.
This is the waterfall opened out...Marina Mist is such a pretty blue don't you think...
Don't forget to check back tomorrow for another ESAD bloghop!
