Ipod Card

I have cased this card from someone named Niki (sorry that's all that was on the watermark...bit early for Father's Day cards here in Oz but this is challenge 120 over at Late Night Stampers...I have since changed the greeting to Happy Birthday as I no longer have a Dad and my poor husband is techo challenged...so much so that he recently watched a whole movie in Italian because he didn't know how to change the language in the dvd  menu set up lol

Sew Suite Dress Forms

It isn't often I make a card I really like...but I do like this one...the Sew Suite set is fast becoming one of my favourite sets just because of all the fun things you can do with it. I have made the punch art flowers with Boho Bossoms adding a few pearls here and there. The colours I chose are Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue and Perfect Plum

Punched Poppies Centre Step Card

Since it's ANZAC Day I thought it would be fitting to do something with poppies which are associated with rememberance. I totally winged this one by looking at  a photo of a poppy and trying to create one with circles...this is how I did it if you are interested..
Start by roughly cutting out three circles with a diameter of approx 2 inches. Spritz the circles on both sides with water then one by one roll them up, unroll and then rub each one between the palm of your hands. You rub them until you can carefully seperate each circle into two pieces..you will end up with 6 circles, enough to make two poppies. Punch a one inch circle from black card and snip all the way around  creating a fringe.

Layer three of your large circles with the black circle in the middle then pierce a hole in the centre of all the layers and attach a black brad. Then you just "fluff up' all the layers. To finish my card I hand cut some stems, buds and leaves..Lest We  Forget.

Punch Art Ballerina Mouse

I was asked to make a card for a little girls 4th birthday. She loves dancing so I went with that theme..this started out as a teddy bear but it  looked more like a mouse so I added a tail lol..very simple to make using 1 3/8 circles punch, word window, 3/4 circle punch, 1/2 inch circle

Easter Bunny Punch Art Treat Card

I wanted to make an Easter card for each of my three little grand daughters using these cute chocolate carrots I found at the shops...the punch art bunny was inspired by some Easter packaging on some other Easter goodies I bought... I have used 1 3/4 circle punch, small, large and wide ovals and 1/2 inch circles for the eyes...don't think the carrots will last long!
To make the bunny
The head is a 1 3/4 circle punch. To make the ears punch two large ovals and trim them so they are narrower at one end. Punch two small ovals in pink and trim  them so they are also narrower at one end. layer the pink ovals on the large ovals behind the top of the head. To make her arms punch two wide ovals. Trim a little off the bottom of each one and trim each side making it narrower one end. Add pen detail. Stick one of the arms behind the bottom of the head (wide end at bottom). Punch another wide oval for the body and stick it behind the head and the arm. Use a template to cut out an oval then use scissors to cut jagged edges across the ovals width. Place the punch art bunny behind the oval leaving his arm to hang over the sides. Use glue dots to attach the chocolate carrot (or a punch art one) then glue the second arm behind the carrot wrapping it around to the front and attaching with another glue dot. His muzzle was made using a one inch circle punch trimmed top and bottom, rounding the corners. I used a stamp for his mouth but you could draw that by hand. The nose is the heart from the Owl Punch. The eyes are 1/2 inch circles punched in white with 1/4 inch circles punched in black for the pupils. The eye lids are 1/2 inch circles punched in half. I have added lashes with black pen. The colours used are naturals Ivory for the bunny with Blushing Bride for the pink bits. Everything was inked before assembly. Clear as mud!

Morning Cup Case

The other day while blurfing, I came across this cute card idea by Lisa Young. I have changed the colours but the rest is pure case. I have used  Regal Rose designer paper on Pretty in pink card stock and the teapot and cups were stamped onto watercolour paper and cut out....a few pattycakes and this would make a cute invite for a High Tea!

Easter Bunny Treat Card

This is a card we will be making in next weeks class...I think he is soooo cute! I followed a tutorial by Dawn Griffith to create the treat cup slider card and the bunny's head is a Jackie Topa design..You pull the bunnys arm (the one with the carrot) and the jelly beans are released through the hole in the back of the card.. .aww look at his eyes...he doesn't want anyone to steal his jelly beans!

Punch Art Bug

This cute bug was part of a collection I purchased from Kim Score at Paper Punch Addiction . I completely forgot I had this till I was browsing through my files this morning...bonus! I have used Peach Parfait for the first time...it's growning on me..the sentiment is from Bugs and Kisses

Santa Card

I love this card...I have seen several versions of him in blog land so I am unsure of the original creator. I used the XL bird punch for his mo, large oval for his nose, 3/4 circle for his eyes, large oval for the holly leaves (taking bites out with the 1/2 inch circle punch)...and the rest is cut freehand. Kinda cute I think!

Punched Flowers

I had three options today...I could either clean the house, mow the lawn or do craft...doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out which option I went with lol! I had another empty coffee jar lying around so I thought I would make it into another gift to have on hand. I followed a tutorial on Valitas blog which is here to make these fuschias...I have to confess I didn't have all the Stampin' Up! punches I needed so I had to improvise with what I had on hand for some of them...I wrecked these a bit by using some stamens I had in my craft stash so next time I will make them myself. I used some designer paper to wrap around the jar and added an old Olive ribbon...It's filled with chocolates (of course) and is now ready for the next time I need a little something for a little someone.
It's one of those days where I have a million things I would like to try so I think I will pop back into my craft room and decide what to do next!

A bit more punch art

Thought I would share some more of my punch art creations. If you would like to make some of these yourself you can purchase the Zoo Animal tutorial from Paper Punch Addiction
I have had so much fun doing these punch art cards...in my previous obsession (as a scrapbooker) I would spend hours making paper piecings, so this really satisfies my " fiddling about" cravings.

I need a small circle punch so I can give my penguin cheeks next time...he is still cute though

And now for something non punch related..I have always wanted to have a go at a secret panel card but thought it would be too tricky for little old me so I have never attempted it...but I got brave this afternoon and had a go at one...and guess what...they are SO easy!!!!. I have used the Priceless stamp set which was a gift from my upline Angie Brown...HOW NICE IS THAT! It has been on my wish list for a long time so I was thrilled to get it (thankyou Angie!!) I am thinking those swirls will make a pretty Christmas card too...anway this is the outside of the secret panel card...just noticed how badly I muffed that punched edge...I could be arrested by the card making police for that poor effort!

This is the card opened up....

...and this is the secret panel opened up....and another blunder....should have used a different stamp instead of happy birthday again...that's another warrant out for my arrest. I had so much fun making this card I think I will do it as a project at my kids class next week...with some icky bugs perhaps!
If you would like to try one of these just google secret panel card...I did that and found some great you tube videos
I think that's enough creating for one day, I have a kitchen full of dirty dishes and a mountain of washing to fold..yay for me!! Don't forget to check back on teh 24th for the ESAD blog hop!

A Bit of Punch Art

I purchased a punch art tutorial from Kim Score at Paper Punch Addiction because I fell in love with this really cute hippo...awww I have made a few others but I haven't taken pictures yet...will be nice if we get some of the punches I need when the new catalogue comes out in September!

I have seen this feller all over the net so I don't know the original creator but he is very simple to make..I can see a few of these being made at Christmas time.
I saw a great tip on Valita's blog about using a segment from the spiral punch to make a top for a bauble...would be simpler if we had the ornament punch here in Australia ...fingers crossed for that one!
Getting organised for Christmas here, I wanted a folder big enough to hold ten dollar scratchy tickets...the ones they have at the newsagency are really naff!! . I used the So Swirly wheel with Versamark and embossed it in gold.
And in case you are wondering...no ! none of them are winners...so don't bother hitting me up for a quid!
And lastly a very quick and simple card using my newest set, Cheep Talk... It's a no brainer for when you are pressed for time..
That's all folks, don't forget to check back on July 24th for the ESAD blog hop....lot's of Christmas ideas on the way!

Card in a Box

I am always amazed at how clever some people are...I saw this idea while I was blog surfing here Papercrafts Love Affair. (Look in the sidbar and you will find a video tutorial added by the very talented Valita!) Please go and have a look, Shari has a really easy tutorial to follow for making the box and the punched flowers. Its actually called a scrapbook in a box but I have made this for my mums 80th birthday for the family to sign...I just love it!! I did however stuff up... I was meant to use Certainly Celery ink on the flowers but I used Wild Wasabi, so the inking is a bit in your face..never mind, its still pretty.
This is what the inside looks like..The "box" opens out flat..you can add photos, journaling or use it as a card...clever clever clever....why can't I be that clever!

Kids Class and More Offerings

Busy, Busy, Busy day!!! I had a kids class in the morning and an adult class tonight..I am pooped!! Happy to say the kids in todays class were awesome..they all remembered to bring their listening ears which meant they all earned a treat bag to take home...The ages ranged from 5 to 11 and everyone of them did a terrific job with their projects...I forgot to take a picture of the gift bag they made but here are some of the others
Found this punch art idea on the net...such a cute little turtle for a bookmark

BAAArbara the sheep on a mini notebook

My personal favourite.."Timmy the Tim Tam Teddy"..and I just remembered I also forgot to take a picture of the cute grasshopper card we made...When you wobbled the card from side to side the grasshopper jumped around!! Thanks kids for being so good...will see you all next school holidays.

And now for some projects we made in tonights adult class (and just between you and me they weren't nearly as well behaved as my juniors!)

I used the new single stamp "All a Flutter" stamped on vellum cardstock. The  base colour is Sahara Sand..why haven't I used this colour before, I love it!

This cup card idea has been around for donkeys years but it's so cool...I gave it a tropical feel
Love Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede together..I also used Vintage Vogue and the XL 2 step bird punch.

And last of all a card we made a few weeks ago using the level 2 stamp set Echoes of Kindness. I used Rich Razzleberry for the base and teh sentiment is from the Heart From the Heart set in the new catalogue
Phew, I am plum tuckered and off to bed...See ya!

Love is in the air

Don't let the title fool you, I am about as romantic as a house brick...however I thought I had better do a few lovely dovey things for the ladies who come to my classes....nothing overly sickly, just a heart here and there..here are the items we made in tonights class
We made this quick and easy little box featuring the skunk from the Pun Fun set...my daughter loves this little guy and made me buy the set just for him...inside the box are some yummy chocolate hearts.
This buckle card features En Francais background stamp with the butterfly and love you from Dream Du Jour (we seem to use this set in class more than any other set, so versatile!!) The single rose is from Embrace Life, it's stamping debut, first time I have thought to use it
Next up we made a cute little notebook...I would love to say I am clever enough to create punch art like this however I am not lol...Lynn Pratt designed these cute turtles and I cased them because I thought they were so sweet
And lastly I came up with this quick little valentine treat using the heart from the Always set. Just a quicky made by stamping the heart and sticking to an icy pole stick with a mat of red to place behind the heart to hide the stick...a chocolate heart was attached to the centre with a glue dot and a little sentiment stamped on the stick with white craft ink....and the polka dot ribbon (from the summer mini catalogue)...the girls all thought it was pretty cute....

And now to my stamping girls who attend our weekly classes...it was suggested we came up with a name for ourselves...so the ball in in your court...email your suggestion to me at wotzup@bigpond.net.au ..I will select the name I think is the best and reward the winner with a little prize...and if I hate your suggestions I will come up with my own lol

This Little Piggy (and more)

I have a kids class tomorrow and my dilema was the diverse age ranges..I needed something easy enough for the little ones to do but not too lame for the big kids...I think these will be ok...first up is the tired/bored piggy with a treat cup nose full of mini musks. I started off making a mouse but thought the treat cup looked just like a pig snout so I went with that idea instead
I thought a sticky note pad would be nice and easy too and added a punch art puppy to the front...He is a creation by Angie Kennedy on SCS...I used the 1 3/4 punch for his head and body and the word window punch for his patch and ears..
Lastly a jumbo clip bookmark..the bird is all glittery which isn't showing up in the image....kids and glitter??? we will see how that goes...
I will let you know how it all went....it's just lucky I know all the kids and they are all well behaved so my sanity should remain intact!

Punch Art Gift Card Holders

I have just finished making the last of my gift card holders for Christmas..yippee!! I came across some lovely punch art as I was browsing the internet and did actually write down the names of the people I cased...however an accident with a camera cord (as in it brushed against my leg, I thought it was a creepy crawly and freaked out and jumped up knocking a cup of coffee all over my notes)...so as soon as I find out more details I will give credit ..  I only remember that this cute snowman was designed by a lady who lives on the sunshine coast in Queensland..She is so clever it's the nicest snowman I have seen...if anyone knows her name please let me know. This one is for my daughter Haley
footnote...I found the name..its Rochelle Hopkinson..I have no idea how to do a link, sorry (Computer stuff is NOT my forte)

I do remember who designed this cute little penguin as it was my upline Angie Brown and she would kill me if I forgot lol..this is for my daughter Jodie
I made this for my mother -in - law as the big open mouth looked familiar (only kidding Lizzie..yikes!) It was designed by Jackie Topa...such a clever lady...I didn't have all the punches I needed for this one so my handcut ovals look a bit naff!
I has so much fun doing all that punch art I decided..buggar it!! I am going to have a go at making one myself...so I came up with this xmas fairy/ angel based on the design of the wrapping paper in which I wrapped my grand daughters Xmas presents..I tried to make a halo but it looked blah! so I just put a bling flower in her hair. All Stampin' Up! punches-scallop circle for the dress, word window for legs shoes and arms, butterfly punch for wings, 1 inch circle for head and hair and a smaller one for her bun...This one will go to my daughter Ebony. And now the fun is over because my house looks like a cyclone has passed through so me thinks I need to clean!
