Pop Up Birthday Card

This little hippo is so cute ..I love using her on birthday cards... for the front I stamped the balloon from Crazy For Cupcakes and placed the hippo in front of that...she is from Pun Fun....Love that set!
On the inside there are balloons which pop up when you open the card...I just made this by playing around..I am sure there are lots of ways to make cards like this but mine is a regular card scored with a thin spine as you would do when covering a notebook. The pop up piece is cut from another piece of cardstock stuck to the inside. I rolled the bottom of the card with Retro Remix and added a sentiment from Heard from the heart

* I would like to thank all the wonderful ladies who attend my classes who very generously donated goods to the flood effort. I dropped them off at the Dream Centre in Carrara and they were very grateful. In all we collected two washing baskets (overflowing) full of toothpastes, toothbrushes, hair brushes, deoderants, shampoos, conditioners, cleaning products, gloves, garbage bags, scrubbing brushes, soap, cloths...the list goes on...hard to believe we achieved that within our small group all in just a couple of days...thankyou all for your kindness..after watching all the footage on TV about the clean up of Brisbane I have to say I am very proud to call myself a Queenslander...the number of volunteers has been astounding, I get a lump in my throat when I see complete strangers helping others...we are all mates after all. I feel so sad for all those who lost family and friends in the floods...there are no words for grief like that

Clean and Simple

I love thee colours together...Rose Red, Old Olive, Basic Grey and Whisper White...the stamps I used for this are the bird from Always, the Fleur de Lis from Friends 24-7 and the sentiment and frame from Just Believe. I embossed just the bottom of the Whisper white and added a scrap of retired Haiku dsp

Valentine Treat Holder

I was at Woolies the other day and I spotted some boxes of indidually wrapped Turkish Delights...yum...I have made a very simple little treat holder to put them in
I stamped the front with hearts from I Heart Hearts and the stems are from the set "For Everything".
I used the full heart punch on the inside and added the turkish delight...a simple little project I will add to next weeks stamp club

Abracadabra! A Magic Card

I have been wanting to do one of these for ages but when I was at the Newsagency the other day I saw one and it jogged my memory...
I used Inspired by Nature to stamp the grasses on the front of the card base and the bird and butterfly are from the Every Moment set.

You pull up the card and the image goes from black and white to colour!! Have a go at making one, they are easy!
* I have had a few people ask how I made this one...I copied one I saw at the newsagency but it would probably be easiest just to google magic card....I just did and there are quite a few tutorials...much easier than me trying to explain the method to my madness!

Birthday Bakery

Yum, I love the new Birthday Bakery set which is a level one stamp set in the new catty. I watercoloured the cakes with Soft Suede, Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette. The awning was made by punching Word Windows in alternate colours...and now I feel like cake...GREAT!

I Heart Hearts

Was wondering why my photos looked blurry lately...my camera lens was filthy...oops! This is a buckle card made using Rich Razzleberry and Very Vanilla. I used En Francais to stamp the background on the inside. The hearts on the strap are from I Heart Hearts...a very pretty set, I really need to use it more often.
I put a plain panel on the inside of the strap so there would be somewhere to write. When the card is closed the strap goes through a slot made with the word window punch. (and I didn't buggar up the stamping on the inside...it's that pesky dirty lens

Friendship Card

I dragged out a few different stamp sets to make this one...Good old Pocket Silhouettes was stamped in Crumbcake across the bottom of the card. For the image panel I used stamps from Vintage Vogue and Great Friend. The butterflies are All A Flutter.
On the inside I used pocket sihouettes again and put butterflies on a spiral cut from acetate...I just noticed I forgot to stamp a sentiment on the inside...it's on my to do list lol...if you have never made one of these before it's very simple. I used a circle cutter to cut a circle with a diameter of about 1 3/4 inches out of acetate. You then just cut around the circle in a spiral. Use a glue dot to attach the outside end of the spiral to the bottom of the card and the inner end of the spiral goes on the top of the card. I used glue dots to attach the butterflies...not sure if that is how it is supposed to be done but it worked for me...if you don't trust me I think they are called spiral pop ups so you could just google it

Extreme Guitar

I  was really disappointed we didn't get Extreme Skateboard in our Aussie catalogue, but luckily I like Extreme Guitar so I guess I should be happy lol. I used the bouncing Brayer technique with Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight ink to make the main image background (on glossy white) . The guitar dude was stamped with black Stazon. I have added some punched stars and used some Tangerine Tango designer paper for tHE main body of the card...Bouncing Brayer is a fun technique...google it if you would like to try it , there are several video tutorials

Love You Much

Happy New Year everyone, I for one was so happy to see the end of 2010...it was a shocking year for us and I am hoping and praying 2011 will bring better things!!
My first card for the year is a nice easy one suitable for Valentines Day. I have used two of the bugs from Bugs and Kisses stamped in Early Expresso and the Heart is from I Heart hearts. The greeting is one of the lovely swirly words from Well Scripted. I have used Baja Breeze, Crumbcake, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White as my colour combo.
I was just looking through some of my posts and realised how plain my cards are...so if I was to describe my style I would have to say plain and simple...and do you want to know why??? ha!
A. I am a tight wad and hate using too many supplies on my cards...I buy nice things and save them "for good"...and do you know what happens when you do that???They go out of fashion.. so that when you DO get around to using them they look out dated and daggy
B. I hate clutter..it makes me feel claustrophobic
C. I can't afford lots of new things so I have to make do with what I have
D. I am bone lazy! I don't like doing things that take too long
So there you go, I have bared my soul....so what is YOUR style and why?
