Pop Up Stage Card

One of my lovely stamp class ladies loaned me this cute polar bear die and straight away I thought of Kim Scores pop up stage technique here. The trees are from a retired set and the greeting is from Heard From The Heart. So much fun to make, everyone who sees it loves it...
For teh front of the card I used one of the trees from Lovely as a Tree to make the branches and the baubles are from Tree Trimmings

A Wish For Peace

This is such a pretty stamp set...a friend loaned it to me so I could make a few cards. For this one I embossed the background mat (crumbcake) with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and sponged it with Crumbcake ink. The image was stamped on the front panel with Crumcake and the sentiment was stamped with versamark ink and embossed in gold..I added some Tiny Tags to the organza ribbon

Season of Joy Pyramid Card

This is another pyramid card we made in our recent Xmas in July class. I have used Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive for the stamping
...and this is what it looks like on the inside....something a bit different for Christmas!

Friends 24-7 Pyramid Card

I made this for a challenge over at Late Night Stampers...I was inspired by the blues and greens in the inspiration piece. I googled 'Pyramid Card" to see how these were made...easy peasy! The stamp set I used was Friends 24-7 and the card stock is Certainly Celery
*I have had people ask how to make these so here is a link to a tutorial..its one of many http://thecraftypad.blogspot.com/2011/07/tutorial-how-to-make-teepee-card.html

Fun and Fast Notes Baby Card

I hardly ever use this set,,,it's a shame because there are so many nice images...this is a quick baby card using the pram from Fun and Fast Notes. I have used small buttons for the wheels and added a few punched flowers and some leaves from the XL Bird punch

Brayered Golf Card

This is a VERY simplified version of a Zindorf card...it looked very do-able for learners...of which I am one lol...an easy card for the blokes!

Christmas in July with Tree Trimmings

I have mixed both traditional and non traditional colours for this Xmas card... Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist. The tree branch is from a retired set, baubles are from Tree Trimmings, the greeting is from Snow swirled and the ribbon is from my stash...I have about 30 metres of this blue organza I am trying to use up!

Sew Suite TuTu Card

I have had fun playing around with scraps of tulle! I have used Baroque Motifs for the background stamped in Pink Pirouette on both the card base and the whisper white panel. The dress form from Sew Suite was stamped on the white panel and again onto pink dsp...I cut out the form from the dsp omitting the stand and cutting away a neckline and stuck it onto the card stamped side down so you can't see the stamped lines...the tulle was a strip approx 6 inches x 1.5 inches folded in half lengthways and hand stitched across teh top with a gathering stitch..I added a bow to hide the stitching

Pun Fun Love Ewe

Sail Away

I am not really a boat type of person but this stamp is lovely to work with. I brayered the background then stamped the sail boat with staz on. I restamped the boat onto white and cut out the sails to stick over the image on the card...very enjoyable, I think I shall do another one!

Strength and Hope

My last effort using this set wasn't my favourite so this time I used stronger colours and I am much happier with the result. Basic Black, Basic Grey, Whisper White and Rose Red are the colours I used this time. En Francais is stamped on the panel behind the butterfly and I used a stamp from Short and sweet for teh sentiment
I have lost count of how many of these I have made but I had a request to do one of these in class again, the ladies love making them...I used Petal Pizzazz, the butterfly from Great Friend and some retired ribbon

Hot Chocolate Treat

I really should have paid more attention in maths when I went to school...it would have made it a lot easier to work this out...simple as it is!!! Took me ages getting the slot right to hold the tube of mini marshmallows but I got there in the end. The stamp I used is from Slice of Life. And now of course I feel like a hot chocolate!

Perk Up

I haven't had time to do much stamping over the last few weeks so my recent cards have all been cases..this one was inspitred by Nancy Leedy..I love paper piecing the Morning Cup Set and I also love mixing and matching patterned papers!

Lollypop Cutie

My apologies for being awol, I have been cameraless...both the stupid batteries died...I have one on loan till I can get a new one. This is a cute little bonus project we did in class a few weeks ago..everyone loved it and it was so simple to make...we have made several versions of this but it's worth an encore. The flower and leaves are from Petal Pizzazz. The lollypop sits upside down in teh flowerpot with the flower glue dotted to the stick

5th Avenue Floral Rose

I never tire of making these reinker float roses...funny story...I recently taught this technique and because the class was so large I pre embossed the roses...one of the ladies came back the next week and said she had tried it at home and she couldn't make a rose appear...when I asked her what she used to emboss the rose she replied she didn't emboss at all...kinda explains why the rose didn't appear lol...sorry Tammy, Love ya!

Priceless Penny Spinner

I have lost count of how many of these spinner cards I have made but everytime I get a new lady to class they always seem to want to make one...so here is version upteenth! Have to admit, you can't help yourself tipping that card from side to side to see that butterfly spin lol. I have used Pocket Silhouettes and the tiny flower from priceless to stamp the foreground and teh top was embossed with Vintage Wallpaper

May 11, 2011

Nature Walk

I love the Nature walk set but struggled to make something decent with it..I do however like this one. I embossed the card front with the tulip embossing folder and sponged it with Crumb Cake ink. The bird was stamped with staz on and sponged with Early Expresso and Kraft ink before I cut it out..bit of lace and a few leaves, the fleur di lis from Friends 24-7 and boom! it's done

Totally Tools

Because I suck at blokey cards...this is a case of Jean Diereks...I changed a few things like the sentiment and added the tape measure from Sew Suite. I don't use Totally Tools often enough, it's great for guy cards

Ipod Card

I have cased this card from someone named Niki (sorry that's all that was on the watermark...bit early for Father's Day cards here in Oz but this is challenge 120 over at Late Night Stampers...I have since changed the greeting to Happy Birthday as I no longer have a Dad and my poor husband is techo challenged...so much so that he recently watched a whole movie in Italian because he didn't know how to change the language in the dvd  menu set up lol

May 8, 2011

Strength and Hope

I used black white and blushing bride for this card but the moth looks a bit washed out, I think I will use a stronger colour next time...the words in this stamp set are beautiful and besides being so apt for breast cancer they also ring true for survivors of abuse...I made a lot more cards today but my stupid camera battery doesn't seem to be keeping its charge...so stay tuned when I upload tomorrow

Another Paper Pieced Awash with Flowers

I had so much fun making yesterdays card I decided to do another with different colours. The colours in this one are Rose Red, Wild Wasabi and the background is Naturals Ivory

Paper Pieced Awash with Flowers

Sew Suite Dress Forms

It isn't often I make a card I really like...but I do like this one...the Sew Suite set is fast becoming one of my favourite sets just because of all the fun things you can do with it. I have made the punch art flowers with Boho Bossoms adding a few pearls here and there. The colours I chose are Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue and Perfect Plum

Apr 26, 2011

Brayered Aussie Card

I hate this card, it looks like a cheap souvinir you would buy in Surfers Paradise lol...But it's for a challenge on Late Night Stampers...a patriotic card...and since I have no patriotic stamps I had to think outside of the box. I drew a rough map of Australia and cut it out and used the negative space to brayer the background with Marina Mist for the sky and Cajun Craze for the red soil. I then stamped the trees from Lovely as a Tree in staz on...this card has already found a new home..one of my regular class ladies snagged it out of the bin and  is sending it overseas...whew! lol

Punched Poppies Centre Step Card

Since it's ANZAC Day I thought it would be fitting to do something with poppies which are associated with rememberance. I totally winged this one by looking at  a photo of a poppy and trying to create one with circles...this is how I did it if you are interested..
Start by roughly cutting out three circles with a diameter of approx 2 inches. Spritz the circles on both sides with water then one by one roll them up, unroll and then rub each one between the palm of your hands. You rub them until you can carefully seperate each circle into two pieces..you will end up with 6 circles, enough to make two poppies. Punch a one inch circle from black card and snip all the way around  creating a fringe.

Layer three of your large circles with the black circle in the middle then pierce a hole in the centre of all the layers and attach a black brad. Then you just "fluff up' all the layers. To finish my card I hand cut some stems, buds and leaves..Lest We  Forget.

Awash With Flowers....again!

Another plain and simple card using this set...I went bright using Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Marina  Mist on a white background...love these three colours together...the stamp a ma jig gets a real workout with this set!

Apr 24, 2011

Awash With Flowers

I was lucky enough to earn two free stamp sets during Sale a Bration and since Awash With Flowers has been on my wish list FOREVER it was the first set I chose. There are so many little bits and pieces in this set, so much fun to play with! For this card I used Bridal Blush and Pear Pizzazz. I stamped the leaves wrong twice!! Pays to check if the stamp is the right way up lol

Apr 21, 2011

Baby Boy Card

Can you tell  I love the bonds suit from the "A Slice of Life"set?...I should have let my colouring dry before I applied the crystal effects...the red hearts have bled a little..never mind...kinda cheeses me off though, when the last thing you do to a card is the thing that buggars up the whole card!

Apr 20, 2011

Sew Suite

To be honest, when I saw this set in the mini catalogue I had no intention of buying it...don't really know anyone in to the whole sewing bizzo...but I caved (pfft! don't I always!!) and now I think its AWESOME! I loved playing around with this card, so many fun elements ..and the Sweet Buttons Embosslits go so well with it...I showed this card to some customers who said they would have never considered this set but it's now on their wishlist...the only bummer is I don't have any stamps that say "sew" so I had to write that bit by hand...but it was SEW easy..lol! And that pom pom trim???? Yes please, I want it in Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie as well!

Slice of Life Baby Card

The little Bonds suit in the "A Slice of Life" set (mini catty level one set) is soooo cute!! For this card I embossed the base with Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. I sponged the circle in pretty in pink and stamped the suit with Staz On which I then coloured with a pretty in pink marker, then applied Crystal Effects. A satin bow and some punched flowers and leaves finished it off...blue one next!
