I was just mucking around trying to come up with a little bonus project for this weeks class and this is what I came up with. I found these miniature individually wrapped candy canes at the Reject Shop...you get about 35 of them for $2! What a bargain!! I started out using the wide oval for the face but it was too small so I dragged out my colluzzle and cut two larger ovals...sorry I don't have a ruler handy to give measurements but they would be 50 percent larger than the wide oval. The nose is a 1 inch circle punch, eyes 3/4 circle punch, eyeballs 1/4 inch circles and the ears are small ovals. The antlers are made with a swirly sizzlet which was a gift from a friend.
Kinda hard to explain this bit but I cut a strip of cardstock slightly narrower than the ovals and scored it in the centre to make a u shape. A hole was punched in the middle scored section and I threaded the hanging part of the candy cane through the hole. This piece was sandwiched between the two ovals...clear as mud right?
I thought these would look cute hanging on the Christmas tree...they would last until my grand daughters walked through the door lol...would be kind of cute to hand out to classmates as well
